Twine vase

I love the texture and look of twine and find so many uses for it. From practical things around the house to creative uses such as wrapping presents.

I grouped these old milk bottles together with twine as the bottles don’t hold many flowers. I thought they looked a bit lonely in a single bottle…. They’re not lonely anymore x

Headboard Challenge

the blockheadboardI’m not a big fan of The Block this year as it seems to just be one long advert. The time frames are so short the quality of workmanship has dropped. In saying that I thought the headboard challenge was great, I would have LOVED to have been a “Blockhead” on this one….so many ideas!

I thought the “twins” headboard was definitely the winner…Here’s the DIY, sooooooo easy

Crayon Art

8.26.11-melted-crayon-3If you’re on a budget or just want a cool project to brighten up a room then you could give this easy DIY a go. You can work to your own colour palette and shape and you only need a few things!

  • Canvas (cheap from Bunnings or Spotlight)
  • A packet of crayons (maybe a few of these if you have a preference on your colour palette)
  • Glue gun
  • Hairdryer

See the step by step here, a great project to do with your kids. They help create their own piece of artwork for their bedroom!www.apartmenttherapy.com/back-to-school-diy-melted-cray-154672

crayon art

Your preference might be to remove the crayons from the top of the canvas once you were done, or perhaps tape off the canvas to create a clean border.

This is art on a budget and it looks great!

Coffee table colour

This coffee table is a great piece of solid wood but to me is a bog standard design so I decided to give it some colour.

I gave it a light sand and undercoat then went crazy with the painters tape. If you’re doing anything like this I highly recommend measuring carefully (then measure again). Use a pencil that easily rubs off wood and choose a quality painters tape or else you’ll find you spend hours fixing things up…

I love it’s new look but the problem is I have no room for it so this one will be for sale on my online shop

Crochet colour

I’m currently working on an online shop for Furniture Revival.

I’ve had a lot of interest in the crochet necklaces and have used some gorgeous bright colours that will really make an outfit pop! I love the mix of vintage pieces with modern colour.

If there’s anything that tickles your fancy then email me on tarsha@ furniturerevival.com.au
I hope to have the shop up in a week, here’s a sneak peek x
